Our January mead of the month is called The Queen’s Kiss—and you'll easily be able to see why. It’s a 9% ABV, as all of our meads are, and semi-sweet with a bit of a zing. Our flavoring ingredients are cloves, chilies, and peppercorn.
The inspiration for this mead was the smoky flavor that one would get from smoking clove cigarettes. That’s the reason we blend in chillies and peppercorn. We originally used a little chili paste (enough to leave that nice scratch in your throat) but have since transitioned to a very mild ancho because of its rich, earthy flavor that blends so well with the Szechuan peppercorn and clove. We first debuted this mead at our hall in 2021, and have brought it back throughout the years.
It's a spicy way to warm up a frigid January. Try a glass the next time you stop by. We’re open 4-10 PM Thursday and Friday, and we recently extended our Saturday hours from 2-10 PM.
